Fair use policy | iTeleCenter

Fair use policy

Fair use is calculated based on average usage of the top 90th percentile of all users on the same level of service, multiplied by 1.5. "Unlimited (subject to fair use policy)" means that you will not be charged any per-minute fees unless your usage exceeds the average of that of most users of the system by more than 50% (but not less than 3000 minutes); if it does —there will be a small per-minute fee for the excess usage only. The average usage is a dynamic value that is recalculated daily for the most recent rolling 30 days, and is not a fixed number.

Example 1:

  • The current average usage is 1000 minutes/month
  • The current fair use limit = 1000 * 1.5 = 1500 minutes/month
  • Your usage is 2500 minutes/month on your bill date
  • Even though you have exceeded the fair use limit you have not exceeded the 3000 minute/month minimum limit
  • You pay $0.00 for minutes used

Example 2:

  • The current average usage is 3000 minutes/month
  • The current fair use limit = 3000 * 1.5 = 4500 minutes/month
  • Your usage is 4490 minutes/month on your bill date
  • You have used more than 3000 minutes/month, but have not exceeded the fair use limit
  • You pay $0.00 for minutes used

Example 3:

  • The current average usage is 3000 minutes/month
  • The current fair use limit = 3000 * 1.5 = 4500 minutes/month
  • Your usage is 4600 minutes/month on your bill date
  • You have used more than 3000 minutes/month, and have exceeded the fair use limit by 100 minutes
  • You pay $3.90 ($0.0390 per/min * 100) for minutes used in excess of fair use limit only.
